Peter Rabbit Community Pre-school

Peter Rabbit Community pre-school is a non-profit community based and managed centre that has been operating for over 70 years.  It caters for 40 children per week, aged between 3 and 5 years old, with two groups of 20 children each.  The 3 to 4 year olds attend on Mondays and Tuesdays, while the 4 to 5 year olds attend on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

At Peter Rabbit Community pre-school children are welcomed into aesthetically pleasing play spaces and offered rich learning experiences through a play-based emergent curriculum.  The children are free to choose from areas of interest to participate in, both as individuals and as part of a group.

Peter Rabbit sees children as capable, competent and resourceful.  Children are provided with open-ended learning where they are encouraged to explore and experiment with materials, to solve problems and work out issues for themselves.  Through observation, the teachers, together with parents and children, develop individualised education programs to suit the abilities and interests of each child.

The pre-school has a large, well shaded outdoor area, where children can safely let their imagination soar in the fresh air throughout the year.  We are accredited by the Cancer Council of Australia as a Sun Smart Centre.
